Empower Myself 2025

The non-profit organization TANDEM announces a 4-weekend training program for young people aged 14–16, who want to face the challenges of adult life with greater self-confidence. Participants can look forward to practical, playful, and experience-based weekends, during which they will get to know themselves better and acquire skills that will provide a solid foundation for entering the world of work.

The training is intended primarily for young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and children’s homes – for them, participation is free of charge.

The goal of the Empower Myself program is for young people to gain new skills and confidence, to navigate everyday life more easily, and to be prepared for further studies or entering the labor market. The program is designed for those living in situations where support is especially valuable – whether in a children’s home, in difficult financial circumstances, with illness in the family, or in foster care – and who need guidance in the following areas:

better understanding themselves,
how to use social media and the online world wisely,
how to manage money responsibly and what to watch out for in everyday situations,
becoming braver, more confident, and learning to believe in themselves.

What does the program offer?

Self-knowledge and career orientation – support in recognizing strengths and consciously planning the future
Personal development and self-confidence – more confident decision-making, strengthening personal values and motivations
Cooperation and responsibility in the community
Safe use of the internet, development of critical thinking
Experiential learning and knowledge applicable in everyday life
Basic financial literacy and practical experience to understand the challenges of daily life
Professional support and individual mentoring guidance

Program content:

4 weekend workshops (from Friday afternoon until early Sunday afternoon)
Playful, creative, experiential exercises and workshops led by experienced TANDEM trainers and experts, combined with individual mentoring
